CSMT Training

Now that you are anticipating obtaining your motorcycle licence, there are three options available to you.

Compulsory Basic Training (CBT)

Carried out over one day, this course is designed to give you the basic skills required to ride a motorcycle. On successful completion, you will be able to ride for 2 years. You will be unable to carry any passengers or use any motorways and you must always display 'L' plates.

However, If you wish to obtain a full licence there are 2 options available to you.

Option 1 - Restricted Licence (A2)

Restricted to a power output of 33(bhp)for 2 years Here you will be able to ride any motorcycle, whilst carrying passengers and using motorways without 'L' plates

Option 2 - Direct Access (DAS)

Here, provided you are over 21 years of age, you will be able to ride any size motorcycle upon passing your test.
